About PassMyCDL

PassMyCDL was built because CDL exam prep is broken.

The existing options are ancient PDFs, government websites nobody reads, and low-effort YouTube videos with wrong answers and zero exam specificity.

We built something different: video-based exam prep where every single factual claim is sourced directly from the FMCSA CDL Manual. If we say the low air pressure warning activates at 60 psi, we can show you the exact page in the manual.

What manual does PassMyCDL use as the source of truth?

PassMyCDL uses the FMCSA CDL Manual as the base reference for every factual claim. In practice, that means air brake content maps back to Section 5.1 for system parts, Section 5.3 for inspection rules, and Section 5.4 for air brake use. Hazmat content is checked against the hazardous materials sections covering placards, shipping papers, and loading rules. Tanker content is tied back to the manual's tank-vehicle guidance on surge, rollover risk, and safe handling.

When a test question depends on a number, a threshold, or a sequence, we start with the manual wording first and only then compare how states phrase it in practice tests.

How does PassMyCDL check answers before publishing?

Before any video goes live, it passes a 10-point checklist:

  • Every factual claim cites a CDL Manual section and page.
  • Every exam answer is cross-checked against 3 state practice test banks.
  • All PSI numbers, distances, and weights match the current manual edition.
  • SVG diagrams are verified against real equipment configurations.
  • TTS narration is human-reviewed for pronunciation accuracy.

One wrong answer destroys credibility permanently in the CDL community. We do not get answers wrong.

Why does PassMyCDL cover finance instead of only test prep?

Most CDL content stops at "here is how to pass the test."

We go further. Is a CDL actually worth it financially? What does an owner-operator really make after expenses? How do you finance your first truck? What tax deductions do most drivers miss?

These are $60,000+ career decisions. You deserve real numbers, not marketing slogans.

Authority signal: We treat the FMCSA manual like a technical source document, not background reading. If a claim cannot be traced to a section, it does not make it into the lesson script.

PassMyCDL is not affiliated with any government agency. All content is sourced from the FMCSA CDL Manual, which is public domain.
